Chapter Three: 170,000 – 40,000 years ago. Genetics, the races of man, Freud and the Id, super-ego and the ego. Eruption of Mount Toba, population bottleneck, social development, evolution, Neanderthal and Homo sapien sapien.
Chapter Four: Upper Palaeolithic Period 40,000 to 10,000 years ago. Cro-Magnon, modern humans and Neanderthal. Genetic diversity, random mutations, hieroglyphs, art, language, writing, and symbolism. Human social change. Right brain-Left brain. Last Ice age, rising water levels, the extinction of the larger mammals in North America and Europe.
